RCIA Initiation Team (Baptism, Confirmation and First Communion)
These teams serve the community by initiating children and adults into our community's life of faith. The .ministry involves creating a welcoming environment, listening to their story, providing them with catechesis, discerning with them their readiness to celebrate the sacraments of initiation. Through this ministry the community is built up and those involved experience the continuous call to conversion.
Sponsor
This ministry is presently connected with the initiation of adults. Sponsors are members of the faith community that choose to walk closely with a person seeking initiation and provides a vital link to the larger community. This ministry involves accompanying the candidate by being present at scheduled sessions and maintaining contact outside formal meeting times. The idea is to have a "pool" of sponsors in the parish that we could call upon during the year.
Catechist
Providing catechesis during each of the stages of initiation is the responsibility of the catechist. This ministry is focussed on sharing and fostering community, proclaiming the message of faith, leading to prayer and worship, motivating for service in the Church and world. The method and goals of this catechesis takes a different shape in each of the different stages of initiation.
